Pokémon Champions Leaks Hint at New Mega Evolutions

New potential Mega Evolution leaks, Pokémon Pokopia DLC details, Nintendo's clarification on Switch game cartridges, and fresh Pokémon sales figures have surfaced.

Several new Pokémon-related updates have dropped, and fans have a lot to look forward to over the next several weeks. That’s a lot to take in, from potential Mega Evolutions in Pokémon Champions to new content coming to Pokémon Pokopia. Meanwhile, Nintendo has also responded to fears about the future of physical game cartridges after reports about one of its longtime memory chip suppliers.

One of the more interesting developments is about possible leaks for Pokémon Champions. Light posted that symbols for Mega Heatran, Mega Magearna, and Mega Tatsugiri appeared online. But the validity of these photos is debatable, especially since the Mega Tatsugiri emblem seems hand-drawn.

Mega Heatran is already confirmed to be in the game; however, Mega Magearna and Mega Tatsugiri are not officially confirmed.

If these leaked icons are true, they could point to more Mega Evolutions coming in the December update. The origin of the photographs is still uncertain, so fans should be cautious for now. Nintendo has officially disclosed the release date for Dazzling Decorations, the second section of the PokémPokémonpia expansion pass. The next paid DLC will release on December 9, 2026, adding more personalization and PokémPokémon goods to the game.

The expansion will let players dress Ditto and their companion in a variety of accessories, like sunglasses, bow ties, and other colorful items. Players can now personalize their Pokémon with additional decorations. Expansion Pass owners will also get additional bonuses, including a recipe for Dynamic Ditto Print Blocks and wallpaper, plus a code for 30 rare Pokémon decorations.

Players must install the Version 3 software update to access the new content. They also need to finish several requests in the Withered Wasteland before starting Dazzling Decorations. It's also rumored that the update will contain info about the third DLC, but Nintendo hasn't confirmed the contents.

Pokémon Pokopia is getting its own new event, called Apples to Applin, running from November 16 to December 1.

The event will include Applin and its evolutions, Flapple, Appletun, Dipplin and Hydrapple. Players can collect sugary apples and trade them for themed furnishings to build habitats that will attract these PokémPokémontendo has also commented on recent fears around the future of physical Switch game cards.

Reports earlier indicated Macronix, a longtime supplier of memory chips for Nintendo, was phasing out ROM production, sparking fears of disruption to physical game delivery. However, Nintendo has said that Macronix does not make Nintendo Switch 2 game cards. Instead, the company is one of many manufacturers who help produce original Nintendo Switch game cards.

That means the claimed production changes will not immediately affect Switch 2 game cards or Game-Key Cards. Even for the original Switch, other manufacturers are still involved in production. So the situation looks a lot less dire than originally thought, especially for Switch 2 users.
