Reports resurface suggesting Rockstar’s Western epic is getting ready to gallop onto PlayStation 5 and next-gen platforms.
Red Dead Redemption 2 rumors about a PlayStation 5 update have once again drawn attention. A recent report stated that Rockstar’s next-generation open-world Western is still in development and could be released soon.
Fans have been excited about a remaster for months, eager to relive Arthur Morgan’s journey with improved graphics and higher frame rates. The game is still a technical gem, even though it was one of the last big releases of the last generation of consoles. A lot of people thought Rockstar would do something similar to what Grand Theft Auto V did, gradually moving from PS3 to PS5.
Rockstar Games planning something big?
A new report said there is an upgrade, but it didn’t mention when it might be released. Reports from earlier this year said that Rockstar Games was planning to release Red Dead Redemption 2 on the Nintendo Switch 2 as part of Take-Two Interactive’s backing for Nintendo’s new console.
Red Dead Redemption 2 launched first on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One in October 2018, and then on PC in November 2019. In the past few weeks, changes to the game’s Steam description have also led to more rumors that a new release might be coming soon.
An announcement might be on its way.
People in the business world think that news this month, on the anniversary of the first release, would make sense. Fans could see the game showcased and then launched quickly, because Rockstar has a history of short marketing windows for games like the PS4 port of Red Dead Redemption and the GTA Trilogy.
A PS5 version of Red Dead Redemption 2 seems likely, since 4K graphics, 60 frames per second, and maybe even other improvements are on the way. Players are growing increasingly excited as they wait for Rockstar to make its move, whether this month or later in the year.
