This statement was made following the leaks that had released dozens of images and videos of GTA VI.
Rockstar Games has finally responded to the mountain of leaks that came pouring forth on September 18th. Many who had questioned the validity of the leaks can now see proof that yes, it is 100% true that the leaks are from the forthcoming Grand Theft Auto title. The leaks are from an early stage of development, which, of course, everyone who viewed the footage can clearly understand.
Rockstar Games made this statement on Twitter:
The statement clearly shows that Rockstar is saddened by the leaks of GTA VI, as no developer wishes for their project to be revealed until it is closer to official release. They also stated that they will “Update everyone again soon” and will “properly introduce you to this next game when it is ready.”
In addition to this, earlier in the statement, Rockstar ensured that everyone would know that the GTA VI leaks would not disrupt any of Rockstar’s “Live game services” and that the leaks also wouldn’t have any “Long-term effect on the development of our ongoing projects”.
