The new Scary Movie is going to bring some familiar faces from the original films, making the sixth film more promising.
It’s been a while since there was a good scary movie. It’s been a while since there was even a new movie in the series. For the longest time, it seemed the parody movies were sadly dead. In an art form that was very prevalent for many decades due to films like The Naked Gun or Young Frankenstein, it seemed that the art form was slowly dying out in today’s day and age. But with the new Naked Gun movie and the original Scary Movie becoming more and more popular, it seems that a new Scary Movie with the original cast is due.
Scary Movie 6 will include Regina Hall and Anna Faris. Both of which were in the original couple of scary movies. Also, it seems that the Wayans Brothers are going to be working on the film as well, like they did with the first two. The first two are also being regarded as some of the best in the series. Once Wayne’s brothers dropped out of the series, they seemed to go downhill. The first one is a classic because of its hilarious concepts and the two movies it’s making fun of, Scream and I Know What You Did Last Summer.
With new Scream movies and a new I Know What You Did Last Summer, it seems like they could possibly do the same thing that they did in the original film. They could parody the more recent Scream movies and the more recent I Know What You Did Last Summer. Or they could pick other horror movies that are popular right now.

The original two scary movies are really nostalgic for people of my generation. They were some of the first crude movies we saw growing up. They have aged pretty well, with the humor being timeless. Some of the humor might not fly today, which makes me curious to see what they do with the new one. I’m also curious to see if they bring on any modern comics to do the new scary movie, like Shane Gillis or someone like that.
Suffice to say, with the Wayans Brothers involved and Regina Hall and Anna Faris coming, I think the new scary movie is in good hands. It is the first time in a long while I’ve been excited for a comedy movie. Hopefully, this parody movie kicks off more movies in the genre.
