There were no more than four Silent Hill titles announced during the Silent Hill transmission.

Konami, in rather surprising fashion, has revealed the four titles that will decide the future of Silent Hill. We understood that they may announce something, however, it was anticipated to be simply one Silent Hill title. The titles vary in terms of style, clearly due to the number of different development teams working on them, but there are names that people should recognise.

To begin, Konami revealed that a Silent Hill 2 Remake is in the works from Bloober Team, with creature artist Masahiro Ito returning. The title is said to be releasing on PlayStation 5 and PC via Steam. It is also listed as PlayStation exclusive for 12 months, no doubt highlighting that the game may come to Xbox later, similar to titles like Deathloop. A debut trailer was released, showing footage of the game:

Following this, the next title to be announced was Silent Hill: Townfall. This title is being developed by No Code, developers of both Observation and Stories Untold, alongside Annapurna Interactive. Not much is known about this title, and no doubt more information will be revealed in the coming year. A teaser trailer for this title is available below:

In addition to this, another title was announced with Silent Hill: Ascension. This title is essentially a “real-time, interactive series”. Players can make choices and influence the narrative, and be a part of scenes. J.J Abrams’ Bad Robot Games, Genvid, DJ2 Entertainment, and Dead By Daylight developer Behaviour are each working on this title. Another available teaser for this is below:

Lastly, following a string of various kinds of Silent Hill announcements, Konami finally dropped the big one. A brand new title set in 1960s Japan, which is being written by the specialist Japanese visual novel writer Ryūkishi07 and is being developed by Neobards Entertainment. More details about this title will be released, no doubt, closer to the release of the title. The teaser for this next iteration in this rather famous series can be seen below:

Well, there it is, all the Silent Hill titles are next to be released. The reception regarding these announcements has been met with what can only be described as cautious optimism. Many have stated that the announcement of five titles following Konami’s silence for at least three years is very sudden and surprising. Regardless, this is the future of Silent Hill, and if you want to check out the full transmission/
