Sony has unveiled two limited-edition controllers inspired by GTA 6, with pre-orders opening September 10; both arriving alongside the game.
Sony has officially revealed two new limited-edition controllers inspired by the highly anticipated game, giving you another way to bring Vice City into your PlayStation setup. The GTA 6 DualSense controllers come in black and white designs, with each version taking inspiration from a different side of the fictional Leonida destination.
The announcement arrived during Sony’s latest State of Play presentation, where the company showed the first look at the GTA 6 DualSense controllers ahead of the game’s November 19 launch. The two designs are officially called the DualSense Wireless Controller – Grand Theft Auto VI Black Limited Edition and the DualSense Wireless Controller – Grand Theft Auto VI White Limited Edition.
Both versions are built around the recognizable Vice City aesthetic. Rather than simply placing a logo on an existing controller, Sony has given each one its own finish and detailing. The GTA 6 DualSense controllers feature a shimmering finish that shifts between colors, drawing from the shades of a Vice City sunset and the glow associated with its neon-filled nights.
You also get molded palm tree designs directly on the controllers. That gives the hardware a tactile detail instead of relying entirely on printed graphics, while official Grand Theft Auto VI branding completes the designs. The white version is designed around Vice City during the daytime.
Its look takes inspiration from the city’s beaches, pale sands, pastel-colored skies, and more relaxed atmosphere. If you picture the brighter, coastal side of Vice City, this is clearly the version Sony is aiming to represent. The black model takes the opposite approach, focusing on the city after dark. Its design is meant to reflect Vice City’s nightlife, with the darker finish matching the energy of the streets once the sun goes down.

Both versions remain visually connected, but they give you two noticeably different interpretations of the same setting.
For availability, the white controller will be sold in limited quantities worldwide through PlayStation Direct as well as participating retailers. However, the black version will be available in limited quantities exclusively through PlayStation Direct where available, while other regions will receive it through selected retailers.
The GTA 6 DualSense controllers will also work with the game’s PlayStation 5 experience beyond their appearance. Sony says the controller’s haptic feedback and adaptive triggers will respond to the action in Grand Theft Auto VI, adding different sensations and resistance as you play through the story of Jason and Lucia.
That means the hardware is not only intended to look like a piece of Grand Theft Auto merchandise sitting beside your console. Its DualSense features are expected to play a role while you are actually in the game, with the controller responding to what is happening around you.
These DualSense controllers are priced at a recommended retail price of $84.99 each. Pre-orders are scheduled to begin on September 10 at 10 a.m. local time. The important part is that ordering early does not mean receiving the controller early.
Both editions are set to launch on November 19, the same day Grand Theft Auto VI is scheduled to arrive.
So, if you plan on picking one up, you will need to get your pre-order in when they become available and then wait until launch day to actually use it with the new game. The DualSense controllers are also another sign of just how closely Sony and Rockstar are connecting the game with the PlayStation 5 platform.
The company has prominently featured the game in PlayStation marketing, including its trailers and the recently shown extended look. Considering that relationship, it would not be surprising to see more Grand Theft Auto VI-themed hardware or accessories appear later.

A larger hardware bundle involving the game and a PlayStation 5 or PlayStation 5 Pro would fit naturally with the marketing partnership, although no such bundle was confirmed in the announcement. For now, the GTA 6 DualSense controllers are the main pieces of new hardware officially revealed. You are getting two different designs, both tied directly to Vice City and both launching in time for the game’s arrival.
These controllers also give collectors something separate from the game itself. Since the editions are being released in limited quantities, they are likely to attract players who want matching hardware rather than simply another standard DualSense. With GTA 6 scheduled for November 19, these limited edition controllers will arrive right at the point when players finally get to explore Leonida for themselves.
The GTA 6 DualSense controllers therefore serve as both launch-day accessories and another piece of the game’s wider PlayStation rollout.
They are not launching ahead of the game, but their September 10 pre-order date gives you an early opportunity to secure one. Whether you decide to go for the bright white daytime design or the darker nightlife-inspired model, Sony is clearly leaning into Vice City’s visual identity rather than treating these as ordinary special-edition hardware.
For players already preparing for Grand Theft Auto VI, the GTA 6 DualSense controllers add another official option to the launch lineup. With their color-shifting finishes, molded palm trees, game branding, adaptive triggers, and haptic feedback, they are designed to make the arrival of Vice City feel a little more present even before you start the game.
