So many games drop on Steam so often that it can be difficult to keep track. But there may not be a more bizarre title dropping on the service than Squirrel With a Gun. The game, developed by Dan DeEntremont, has quickly garnered a huge following of people anticipating the release of this unusual game.
Now the title of the game is pretty self-explanatory, but there is more… So much more. A game that seems to be surprising continuously, Dan DeEntremont recently cut together a trailer of the game:
The trailer shows off the bombastic and ludicrous gameplay, all developed in Unreal Engine 5. The game features you playing as a Squirrel (Hence the title), and you wield various guns (Again, see title). But as seen in the trailer, these guns allow players to launch their squirrel in the air, essentially serving as assistants to platforming. Ultimately, Squirrel With a Gun is a sandbox title with a focus on exploration and combat.
The game has an air of titles like Goat Simulator. While the idea and execution are different, its ambivalent attitude and its dedication to complete insanity give off similar vibes. The games release date is still unknown, with its very own Steam page simply stating “Good Question” in regards to that. Whenever this game releases, many people will be excited to hop into what seems to be one of the craziest games we may have seen for a long time.
