Sword and Fairy: Together Forever is coming to the PS5 and PS4 in North America, Europe and Australia in Summer 2022!

A brand new solo chapter in the famous Sword and Fairy series, Sword and Fairy: Together Forever, will be released for PS5 and PS4 in North America, Europe, and Australia this summer, with a simultaneous worldwide release in mind. Check out the new announcement trailer.

Players in the Chinese-speaking community have flocked to the Sword and Fairy RPG series since its inception in 1995. Sword and Fairy: Together Forever, released in 2022, takes gameplay mechanics and visual presentation to the next level. Intense real-time action and a massive, intricate world await you in Sword & Fairy: Together Forever, a game powered by Unreal Engine 4 that maintains the series’ trademark depth and a captivating plot. Eastasiasoft Limited is happy to introduce this RPG epic to new audiences across the globe, which can be enjoyed by both long-time fans and those who have never heard of the series.

To his credit, Eastasiasoft Limited’s Project Lead Joshua Michael French remarked, “We have the opportunity to work on a popular Asian game that would otherwise never see the light of day in the west.” As a perfect example of this, look no farther than “Sword and Fairy: Together Forever.” It’s a beautiful game in any sense of the word, steeped in Chinese culture and fueled by a fervent devotion that spans decades. In addition to Xuan Yuan Sword 7, Empire of Angels IV, and Sword & Fairy 6, it joins our roster to maintain our important connection with SOFTSTAR, one that we want to develop and cultivate with further titles still to come!”

When it was first released on the PC, Sword, and Fairy: Together Forever was a critical and commercial success. Players and critics alike lauded the game’s visuals, world-building, plot, and dynamic character development.
Its character modeling and aesthetic design have been particularly lauded by Digital Foundry:

For example, Alex Battaglia, a video producer for Eurogamer.net, said, “Many characters are emphasized with fabric or hair physics to highlight their movement in ways that make the game an enjoyable look at. As far as I’m concerned, this seventh installment of the Sword and Fairy series is one of the best of the bunch.”

In Sword and Fairy: Together Forever, Softstar Technology (Beijing) Co., Ltd was responsible for the original development. In the west, Eastasiasoft Limited plans to release the game digitally. A weapon appearance and four new costumes will be unique to the console edition, compared to the PC version. Physical copies for PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 4 are also under development. As soon as we get more information, we’ll let you know!

Sword and Fairy: Together Forever, PlayStation 5, Gameplay

Sword and Fairy: Together Forever, the newest solo edition in the almost 27-year-old RPG series, transports you to a world of ancient mythology and classic oriental aesthetics. Together Forever weaves its story across the three clans of Human, Deity, and Demon, Sword, and Fairy, allowing you to command a remarkable group of characters with distinct personalities, motivations, talents, strengths, and weaknesses. They must work together to determine the future. For those unfamiliar with Sword and Fairy, this engaging single chapter serves as a jumping-on point, while honoring the series’ great heritage.

Additionally, Sword and Fairy: Together Forever adds dynamic real-time fighting mechanics with entire freedom of movement and smooth screen-filling skill animation in addition to the most improved visuals in the series’ history. On the go, switch between characters and strategy! To help you on your quest, you may encounter and care for spirit beings. While exploring this masterfully designed action role-playing epic, you’ll have the opportunity to collect special clothing and weapon skins as well as learn new abilities, play mini-games, and more!
