We finally get the confirmation for the next character for Tekken 8’s Summer DLC character.
With Tekken 8, now is a very good time to laugh, because yesterday we just gave you some news about what the next DLC character to come through would be. The Summer was supposed to be the sister of Nina Williams, Anna. And then the Autumn DLC character was going to be the Jackie Chan-inspired, Leo Wulong. And then we said that with Summer approaching, we should get confirmation as to what character will be next soon enough, and that day so happened to be today.
Not only was yesterday’s source wrong, but the characters for Tekken 8’s DLC are completely unexpected from what most of us think they are. Confirmed at Evo Japan 2024, Summer’s season 1 DLC character will be the Polish Karate warrior, Lidia Sobieska. This will be her second appearance in a Tekken game, as the last title, Tekken 7 was her first as she was also a DLC character for that game.
Lidia has been met with mixed reactions by the community. Some are happy, whilst others feel like this is a disappointment. There is currently no confirmation as to when exactly she’ll arrive, but be assured that she’ll become playable this summer. Moreover, the Summer DLC also comes with a brand new stage named SEASIDE RESORT, and the brand new photo mode feature comes with it.
And just like it was with Eddy Gordo, those of you who purchased the Tekken 8 Deluxe or Ultimate editions will get early access to Lidia, whilst the standard edition holders will get her on the official release. And speaking of which, Tekken 8 is currently in a 30% sale, so you can get the game for cheaper. The Ultimate edition is now being sold 20% cheaper. So, you’d better get it now before they go back to normal prices.
Now that Lidia is confirmed, there is large speculation that the Autumn character will be the long-serving Australian brute, Craig Marduk, and the Winter character will be Muay Thai master, Fahkumram, who made his first appearance in Tekken 7. Plus, Tekken 8 confirms that, along with the new DLC character, Autumn DLC will have a brand new story. And further DLCs will have online practices, Ghost Vs Ghost matches, and more.
