The director of the Tekken series shares a big milestone for fans of the franchise, including how well Tekken 7 has performed globally.

With Tekken 7 Season 4, which was leaked by Bandai Namco itself after the company accidentally posted a video outlining the season roadmap as well as a new character for the roster, a new ranking system is coming. Katsuhiro Harada, producer, and director of the Tekken franchise, declared an enormous sales milestone for Tekken 7, as well as the entire Tekken series.

TEKKEN7 had achieved Over 6 million sales !

On his official Twitter account, Harada revealed that Tekken 7 had crossed over six million in revenues, helping to raise the cumulative number of sales for the series by over 50 million. And these numbers aren’t thin. Tekken 7 has been out for more than five years, but while some might think this a minor success relative to titles like The Last of Us 2, which alone sold four million units on the first weekend, it was no small feat. That’s also excellent news for an online community, as that means there are lots of individuals who have at least played the game, meaning there is a better likelihood that other players will be able to compete against it.

A new fighter for Tekken 7, Kunimitsu, was announced by Bandai Namco’s livestream for this year’s Tokyo Game Show, so it’s obvious that even though the game has been out for a few years now, there’s always support and fresh updates rolling out to please fans.

A variety of UI changes will come with the new warrior, which will ideally make the game an even easier and more fun experience for all players. These sales figures show that the series has been very popular, and hopefully, this accomplishment means that there will be much more new content and updates coming soon, or even a new release.

Although there are a variety of fighting games available for people to pick, including Mortal Kombat 11 and Dragon Ball FighterZ, there’s are still players who prefer Tekken 7. Tekken 7 is available now for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.
