How many of you genuinely remember the legendary 2002 video game The Getaway? If you don’t remember, or even have strangely never heard of the game, go on YouTube right now and watch some gameplay. The Getaway was an absolute masterpiece of a game. This game, as well as the sequel, rivalled Grand Theft Auto games for a few years, and it’s safe to say that The Getaway games genuinely brought a challenge to GTA. The Getaway was a crime action open-world game that was set in London, England.

Developed by Team Soho. But with all that being said, how would you feel about a next-gen upgrade to this legendary PlayStation 2 game? Imagine much improved and smoother gameplay and vibrant visuals to the game. Well, fans have constantly pleaded for a next-gen upgrade on Twitter, and games developer Mike Rouse has responded to the tweet by saying, “I’ve heard from my contacts at Sony that something is in the works. What it is, though,h I don’t know”.

Mike Rouse was also involved in the development of The Getaway, so the fact that he responded to this tweet is definitely something to be excited about. Even though nothing has been announced yet. With all that being said, if The Getaway were to be remastered, then not only would fans queue up for it, but it would bring back that nostalgia.
