Activision has established a new internal mobile studio that will collaborate on the game with Beenox and Activision Shanghai.

During Activision Blizzard’s second-quarter earnings conference today, the publisher disclosed that a new Call of Duty game for mobile devices is in the works. The publisher has not released any further details about the game at this time, but it has stated that it feels there is potential to integrate the mobile “environment” with the console and PC versions.

It’s unclear how this will operate, but Activision should provide more details shortly. It’ll be fascinating to see how Call of Duty: Mobile differs from this new concept. Activision has had a lot of success with Call of Duty: Mobile since its release in 2019. Activision stated in its results press release that the game “is on track to exceed $1 billion in consumer expenditure for the year.”

With such a high degree of success, it’s no surprise that Activision is searching for new methods to grow its mobile audience! Mobile gaming’s reach continues to expand, providing for changes that would have been inconceivable only a few years ago on the platform. Hopefully, this new project will continue to push the boundaries and deliver an experience that matches the finest Call of Duty games.

For the time being, fans will have to wait and see what the future holds!
