EA and Maxis drop a cryptic “roadmap for a roadmap,” hinting at upcoming The Sims 4 packs, updates, and brand-wide expansions, with more details expected on June 5.
EA and Maxis just put out a new roadmap for The Sims 4, but there’s a catch: it’s just a sneak peek at a new roadmap that’s coming soon. The news may sound like a tease, but it does give us some juicy hints about what to look forward to in the coming months.
The summer fun, called “Sim Your Summer,” starts on May 30 with a series of live streams where popular content creators show off new features in the game. Following that, the big reveal is scheduled for June 5, when the long-awaited roadmap for June through August will be released. Many people think that this update will confirm the next big expansion pack, but there are a lot of rumors going around, especially about an expansion with a fairy theme.
Interestingly, the rate at which new content is released continues to accelerate, but many fans hope that Maxis devotes more time to fixing bugs between the prompt releases.
The roadmap also shows updates for games other than The Sims 4. The Sims FreePlay will get a Mega Splash update on June 10. This update will likely focus on pools and swimming, which is part of the company’s larger plan to unify the Sims brand across multiple platforms.

Fans will also be able to get new stuff in June, and in July, there will be another FreePlay update called “Get Out of Town”, and an official Sims board game will come out.
The official blog tells Sims players to “create the perfect moment” for their characters, which could be anything from a relaxing backyard barbecue to a summer glow-up or fling.
The specifics are still very vague for now, and fans will have to wait until June 5 to find out everything. For now, many people are hoping that the developers will fix the bugs as soon as possible to improve the game.
