CD Projekt Red confirmed The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt’s Next Gen release date to coincide with the games 7th Anniversary.

The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt is 7 years old. 7 years since CD Projekt Red’s very own magnum opus graced our screens. We were promised The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt’s next-gen upgrade back in July of last year, with information that it would gain various items based on The Witcher, the popular Netflix series that was announced to great acclaim. It then suffered its slew of odd development updates and delays before CD Projekt Red’s announcement that the next-gen upgrade would be delayed indefinitely.

Following the many theories surrounding the game that everyone had believed was in the midst of development hell, CD Projekt Red posted this on Twitter:

Let's make this 7th anniversary even better, shall we?

We're delighted to share that the Next Gen version of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt is planned to release in Q4 2022.

On The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt’s 7-year anniversary, the company announced that the next-gen upgrade will be coming in Q4 of this year. For those in the unknown, many companies and businesses divide the year into quarters. Q4 means that the game will come out anywhere between October 1st to December 31st, with enough possibility for manoeuvring in between those dates.

Players should be ecstatic to be able to experience The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt on next-generation consoles, and I, for one, am so excited to see how the game holds up to the rest of the industry following its various upgrades.
