RuneScape is advancing toward mobile devices this late spring. Although the exemplary MMORPG has been in early access on iOS and Android for some time, it'll open to everyone in the coming months. RuneScape will remain free to play, with additional abilities, journeys, and different advantages for paying subscribers.
Publisher Jagex says the game had more than 2.1 million mobile downloads during early access. It likewise hit a record-high number of supporters a year ago, with more than 1.2 million. So while RuneScape is more than twenty years old, it still has a flourishing player base that seems ready to play even when in a hurry.
If you're a current RuneScape player, you'll be glad to know there's cross-play and cross-movement support with the PC version. You'll bring all your journeys, characters, gear, etc. Jagex has patched up RuneScape's UI for versatility and given it a visual and operational redesign. It overhauled the menus, symbols, text, and surfaces, and refined the battle mechanics for a more versatile client.
It will not be the first RuneScape title to arrive on iOS and Android. In 2018, Jagex delivered Old School RuneScape, based on a 2007 version, on mobile. It also supports cross-play with the PC version.
You can now pre-request RuneScape on iOS and pre-register on Android. If enough people do, Jagex will unlock some elite restorative items.
