Snow White has already been dethroned from the top spot in the box in only its second week of release.
A working man has dethroned Snow White in Disney’s latest live-action remake of one of their animated classics. Snow White has only been in theaters for two weeks, and it’s already lost its top spot at the box office. This is a monumental disappointment for Disney right now.
The film is sitting at 1 star out of 10 on IMDb, their lowest-rated film they have ever put out. There’s likely a change in how Disney will be moving forward with their movie releases, especially their remakes. This is a disaster and something that we haven’t seen in a long time with big-budget films.
There are a lot of things to blame as to why Snow White came out to such a horrible reception, but it seems that a lot of the weight has landed on some of the actresses in the film. I believe that the two leads in the film, Gal Gadot and Rachel Zegler, will have a very hard time getting roles in future films, at least for the time being. A lot of people are blaming Rachel Zegler for the film’s bad press and subsequent bad showings in theaters.
I think she will suffer the most out of the two leads in Snow White, and it seems like just about everyone doesn’t like her right now. I’ve seen some pretty extreme things online of people explaining how much they don’t like her or the film itself.
The film probably isn’t that good, but I am sure that it’s getting review-bombed on most of these review websites like IMDb. Because I believe the film was made for kids, and there are probably a lot of kids who didn’t have problems with it, but those same kids don’t go online and review movies.
It will go down as one of the biggest disappointments in Disney’s history of film. It will make them reconsider future remakes that they have planned or have thought about, I am sure. It’ll be interesting to see how they handle it moving forward, as so much was put into this film with marketing, press, and more.
The week it came out, it was everywhere. You would see it all over online with all the ads it had. Luckily for them, a lot of people will forget about this with the Minecraft movie coming out this week. The Minecraft film will more than likely gain all public attention due to its notoriety.
