From Hades to Call of Duty, a strong mix of indies, JRPGs, and blockbusters.
The second set of September games for Xbox Game Pass is now available. There are 13 new games available across all of its subscription plans. The lineup has a mix of well-known AAA brands and beloved independent gems, so there is something for almost every type of player.
Some of the best games are Hades, which came out just in time to get people excited about the long-awaited sequel, and Visions of Mana, a JRPG that wasn’t a huge hit when it came out but is still an important part of a long-running series. Deep Rock Galactic: Survivor is a group survival shooter that you can play. Endless Legend 2 and Frostpunk 2 are strategy games that you can play.
The full lineup includes:
- Hades
- Visions of Mana
- Deep Rock Galactic: Survivor
- SOA: Sworn
- Endless Legend 2
- Frostpunk 2
- Peppa Pig: World Adventures
- Wobbly Life
- Lara Croft and the Guardian of Light
- Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3
- For the King
- Overthrown
Peppa Pig: World Adventures may be the show’s tongue-in-cheek star, but there are other parts that really stand out for their quality and effect. Visions of Mana is seen as a good modern revival of the series, even though the company that worked on it shut down soon after it came out. Because it’s on Game Pass, JRPG fans can play it without having to pay the still-hefty $60 digital price. Physical copies, on the other hand, cost around $30.

Hades is still one of the most praised roguelikes from the last few years on the independent front. It’s still one of the best independent games out there, thanks to its fast-paced action, sharp writing, and ability to be played again and again. Frostpunk 2 is back with its mix of survival and city-building strategy, forcing players to make tough moral decisions while juggling limited resources.
The most important change to Game Pass, though, isn’t one of the usual updates. Signups for Xbox Game Pass Ultimate and PC will let you get into the Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 open test early on October 2. This suggests that Microsoft aims to make Game Pass a must-have for Call of Duty fans, potentially leading to increased purchases in the coming months, given the series’ significance.
Overall, September’s second wave may not have a lot of games that come out on the first day, but Xbox Game Pass continues to be a great deal for players, with well-known games like Hades, Visions of Mana, and Frostpunk 2, plus the huge Call of Duty beta access.
