Microsoft reveals a new trailer detailing the Xbox Series X’s Velocity Architecture and what it will mean for gaming in the next generation.

The Xbox Series X packs quite a bit of custom hardware. Today Jason Ronald, Director of Program Management on Xbox Series X, went into a little more on just what the special Xbox Velocity Architecture entails.

Ronald talked about how the Xbox Series X also has extremely capable hardware decompression, far more efficient memory usage, and about how in addition to having a custom SSD. None of this is new information but through fashion, it’s broken down in more detail.

Xbox also released a trailer. This trailer featured key highlights of Xbox Velocity Architecture. This is complicated but the important takeaway is that Xbox is using a fast SSD to make game assets much quicker and loading games.

Games are the reason players buy new systems though custom technology is nice. The industry is also waiting to see just what Xbox Game Studios has in store after a sample of third-party titles were shown off in May. On July 23, Xbox is holding a big Xbox Games Showcase. Where we will have the chance to see Halo Infinite and other big Xbox titles in the pipeline.

The trailer is still informative enough that those who don’t fully comprehend those sorts of things can still understand what’s going on and how these new Xbox Series X features will affect the next-gen console in practice. The Xbox Series X releases this holiday season.
