Super Smash Bros. Ultimate is facilitating a Paper Mario: The Origami King-themed spirit occasion this week, complete with new spirits for players to gain.
Super Smash Bros. Ultimate hasn’t gotten any substantial new content in a few weeks, and as such, fans have been combing the internet for any clue as to who Smash Ultimate’s next DLC character will be. While they wait for that announcement, Nintendo will be hosting a new spirit event centered around Paper Mario: The Origami King.
Just half a month has gone by since Smash’s last spirit occasion, however, the game’s authentic Japanese Twitter page reported that players will have another to take on beginning this Friday, August 28. With regards to the Paper Mario subject, the five-day occasion, whose name means Origami Ambitions, will present three new spirits from The Origami King, these being Olivia, King Olly, and Origami Peach. Nintendo has built up an impressive collection of spirits in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate.
Since the game launched almost two years ago, the company has been regularly adding to it with plenty of cool and unusual picks. With over 1,300+ to choose from, events like these go a long way towards highlighting characters players might not even know are in the game, as well as characters that should be added to Smash Bros. Ultimate’s playable roster.
Similarly, Ultimate’s spirit occasions have given players something to do between major DLC drops, Paper Mario: The Origami King has given Nintendo fans another game to play in 2020 other than Animal Crossing: New Horizons.
With how well Mario’s latest paper-themed RPG has been doing since it came out last month, it’s no surprise that Nintendo wants to hype it up further in Smash. Super Smash Bros. Ultimate is available for Switch.
