Xenoblade Chronicles is Coming to Tetris This Week

A new Maximus Cup event for Tetris 99 has been announced by Nintendo. On July 3, the game’s next Maximus Cup event kicks off. You’ll unlock a new theme based on Xenoblade Chronicles: Definitive Edition if you earn points. This one is based on the recently launched Xenoblade Chronicles: Definitive Edition. This weekend, the competition takes place, and you will have a chance to earn another crossover theme.

This week’s event is a point-based competition like most other Maximus Cups. If you can amass at least 100 points before the Maximus Cup ends, you’ll unlock a Xenoblade Chronicles theme for Tetris 99. Depending on how well you place during a match, you will earn a different number of points.

You can download and play Tetris 99 online for free if you already have a subscription. The game also offers a USD 10 big block DLC that adds a handful of offline modes. It includes a Local Arena that supports up to eight players and a Marathon. Last month Xenoblade Chronicles: Definitive Edition launched on Switch. The game features improved UI, a new epilogue story called Future Connected, and touched-up visuals. This game is a remastered version of the classic Wii RPG. This time the game will bring a new theme.

The game will feature Shulk himself, a Monado-based playing field, and the Gaur Plains background. But the real deal is its music. This includes the songs You Will Know Our Names, Time to Fight, and Mechanical Rhythm, all of which have battle theme glory. The songs will change as the Tetris match goes on, as is the case with the other special themes. This means that if you want to hear them all, you have to put your puzzle skills to the test and stay sharp.

On July 3, the Xenoblade Chronicles Maximus Cup kicks off at 12 AM PT / 3 AM ET and runs until 11:59 PM PT on July 6. You’ll need to have a Nintendo Switch Online subscription to participate. Memberships cost USD 4 for one month, USD 8 for three months, and USD 20 for one year. Nintendo also offers a $35 annual Family Plan that covers up to eight Nintendo Accounts.
