Serving in the military is a blast. Unexpectedly, you can download Enlisted for free, and it’s worth playing.

It seems like there is another first-person online shooter who just joined the party, and its name is Enlisted. If you love playing WWII games and you are a huge fanatic of one of the most historic periods ever, then Enlisted is a game worth at least having a goon and trying it out for yourself. It is fair to say that Call of Duty and Battlefield franchises do need some competition. Then we enlisted, aiming to compete with both powerhouse franchises. The beta was released just a few weeks before the Enlisted finally released this game. But it hasn’t gotten enough attention in the gaming world. Hopefully, as the months go by, the popularity of this game will increase.

The strange thing is that although the game lacks so much originality, the level of creativity is nearly non-existent. However, that does not at all take away the enjoyment I had with this game. Ironically, this game is somewhat of a hybrid of Call of Duty and Battlefield, the two franchises that Enlisted is seemingly trying to compete against. This would be another reason for playing this game if you are a Call of Duty or Battlefield fan. It might take you some time to get into the game due to the button configuration, but as time goes by, you’ll get the hang of it.

Enlisted is a first-person shooter, squad-based massively multiplayer online game developed by Darkflow Software and published by Gaijin Entertainment, released on March 2nd, 2021. The available platforms for this game are Microsoft Windows and next-gen consoled PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X and S.

As it should be, the gameplay is this game’s brightest spark. The mechanics hugely resemble Battlefield games. Some weapons are fantastic. The Stg 44 weapon, especially, is highly addictive and would motivate you only to use that assault rifle as the fire rate and low recoil make it so much fun to use. However, I feel that only a few selections of weapons could improve, such as the semi-automatic rifles, where it’s sometimes tough even to get a hit marker on an enemy. The game would benefit more if they had included more weapons for depth but with the ones already in, it’s not necessarily a big issue, and you would enjoy this game considerably.

I particularly like the realism in taking out your enemies by only needing between one and three shots, depending on the weapon and what part you are shooting at him. Following this, I also like how you are able to revive yourself after an enemy attacks you, rather than having to wait for a teammate to do it for you, like in certain first-person shooter games. All vehicles are half and half. Great for shooting and eliminating enemies, but not so fun because of how frustrating it is to steer them. Especially for the tank, although this is the case, it is still unbelievably overpowered. The tanks in the game seem almost indestructible, which makes it great when you use them, but unbearable when you are on the receiving end. They might need to nerf this so that it is much fairer for everyone.

The animation needs a lot of work as it is sometimes heavy; for example, there is poor movement when climbing up ladders, and the sprinting has an arcade vibe. Nonetheless, the gameplay was fun,, and you would have more fun with teammates. The number of maps was decent. Although, I would’ve liked there to have been a little more. The designs of the maps are beautiful, and they help so much more when you are playing on the next-gen console, particularly in 4K resolution. The sizes of each map are inconsistent, which is a massive benefit as you wouldn’t want to just play in large maps or just much smaller maps. There is a balance in this game, and that deserves praise. The game modes are fun, and they resemble so much Battlefield. This game would be more authentic if they included even one game mode they thought of themselves.

The game’s visuals were stunning, and the map’s designs included vintage-styled buildings, vehicles, etc. The climate is included on these maps. The beautiful maps make you intrigued about what life was like in the 1940s. The detailing of the weapons has an almost photorealistic look. All of this looked far better, as this is also available on next-gen consoles, and the 4K resolution enhanced the realistic effects. You can see that much time and effort was taken into the graphics.

The audio was also excellent, the sounds of the weapons, vehicles, footsteps, etc., were very accurate, and the classic voiceover calls are so incredible that they might motivate many of you in wanting to complete the objectives perfectly and also have you feel like you’re an actual soldier. There are not many negatives you could identify in this area.

Enlisted provides so much enjoyment. This game is worth playing, and surprisingly, a game like this is only accessible to download. There are some positives to take from this game, but there are also very noticeable drawbacks that should be improved for this to be better and drastically increase its longevity. You could say this game has some potential to rival Call of Duty and Battlefield and give them a run for their money.
