Inti Creates Announces Azure Striker Gunvolt 3 For Nintendo switch

A third mainline entry in the Gunvolt series is set for release. Announced by Inti Creates recently. During the recent digital showcase, this announcement was expected by many. But now we are getting our look at the game.

The new game adds another playable character to the mix. In the trailer an unnamed female protagonist comes in and dices and slices foes. Gunvolt himself remains blaster-based. This joins a Mega Man zero-esque flavor to things. Now you will have a short-range blade-based character and long-range blaster to use.

The release widow isn’t known yet but Gunvolt 3 will be launched on the Switch. It’s safe to say that the release date is drawing closer. In 2014, Azure striker Gunvolt came out of nowhere. It delivered one of the most inventive takes and fastest-paced on a Mega Man-esque action stage in ages.

More unique UI design, the unique world and Dutch angles being used for the game perspective helped it stand out. Thanks to the addition of Copen as a playable character, two years later the sequel added an even faster pace. Especially Mighty Gunvolt and a couple of 8-bit-inspired games in Mighty Gunvolt took things to another level. It didn’t feel as finely tuned as the others but Gunvolt Chronicles: Luminous Avenger iX was the most recent foray into this new world.

Azure Striker Gunvolt  3 will see Keji Inafune collaborating with series director Yoshihisa Tsuda to develop the platformer. Currently, Gunvolt 3 is only in development for Nintendo Switch. Price and a release date have not been announced.
