Review Overview

It is a great thing to play comic book heroes in video games. When you think of the great superheroes such as Batman, Spiderman, Hulk, Superman, and so on, you just cannot wait to play the video game adaptations because not only are they your favorite heroes, but you can also play as them, and defeat enemies with their superpowers. Now, Marvel has introduced its superhero game, Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy, which got a lot of people talking.

However, due to Marvel’s Avengers getting somewhat average views, many, including Marvel fans, thought that the game would be on the same wavelength as the Avengers and would not be better. But Marvel knew exactly how they wished to deliver Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy to change this idea.

It is understandable why many people would jump to this conclusion, seeing as both Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy and the Avengers game were from the same publisher. Fortunately, the game was far better than expected; you can tell that this is a huge improvement.

This turned out to be an addictive game. If you are a huge Marvel fan, a Guardians of the Galaxy fan, or even if you are not such a big fan of comics but just want a fantastic game with a great story, then this is a game for you.

As a gamer, when you see a great and touching storyline, with loveable and relatable characters, as well as good gameplay and exceptional choices in music, among other things. Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy is an action-adventure game developed by Eidos-Montreal and published by Square Enix’s European Subsidiary. The release date was October 26, 2021, and is available on platforms ranging from Microsoft Windows to Xbox Series X and S.

Plus, some of the questions require you to use your critical thinking skills quickly, as there is a time limit. In contrast, the other questions allow you to take as much time as you need to think of what you pick as your preferred answer.

So, it is wise for you as a gamer to choose wisely to get the best possible outcomes of the game. The story has virtually everything you want in a great story: romance, drama, comedy, adventure, and most definitely plenty of action along the way. You will fall in love with the main characters, especially Rocket Raccoon.

The gameplay is very good. It is one of the biggest sparks of the game. You engage in a lot of exhilarating battles with the rest of your Guardian friends. When you want to take down enemies in different ways, you can simply use each Guardian for their specific finishing moves and ultimately win battles quickly and easily.

It isn’t just during combat where you can use the other Guardians. You can do other things like request Rocket to get through tunnels you or the others cannot squeeze through because of his small frame.

Also, request Rocket to use his expertise and intelligence to use and fix machines. Requesting Drax to lift extremely heavy things for you and the others to climb on to proceed to other places. If you need help penetrating certain surfaces, Gamora is your girl. You can also use her to help you climb certain things.

Sometimes, you would need a bridge made because things like the distance between one end and the other are too great to jump. This is where Groot comes in. Groot can also increase the height of certain surfaces. It is fair to say that the other Guardians are just as important in completing the game as you are. The best is the huddle-up feature. If the battle is too much to handle, then you simply use this mechanic to benefit you drastically.

It is indeed a very cool feature, as it pumps you and the rest of the Guardians, as well as the other Guardians. You can pick what you prefer to answer, and you become almost invincible when you are in that mode. There are some negatives.

There are so many frustratingly long battles. Some battles would take you somewhere between 15 and 20 minutes to complete. Also, the difficulty of the game isn’t very challenging in most, even when you choose to play on the hardest difficulty. But fortunately, these negatives have very little impact on the overall quality of the game.

The visuals are very good. Honestly, identifying any negatives on the graphics would be arduous, and the developer deserves praise for taking their time with this. The wide range of colors, as well as attractive ones, gives this game the true comic-book effect that it should have. Also, it is rather surprising that many areas of the game display photorealistic effects.

The audio is magnificent. The voice actors and actresses can hold their heads up high and say they put in stellar performances portraying their characters. The mixture of emotions often displayed highlights the versatility of the cast members.

The choice of music is great. It feels good to play the game while listening to some of the most iconic songs of the 1980s, especially when you have executed the huddle mode. What’s even better is that there is a monitor on the Guardian’s ship, so you can listen to the songs as much as you please.

Ultimately, Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy ticks many boxes to make this a phenomenal game. The story will have you going through a range of emotions, and it’s quite rare for a game to achieve this.

This game is an upgrade to Marvel’s Avengers. Without saying, there are a few negatives, but they mean almost nothing compared to the positive aspects of the game, which turned out to be one of the best games of 2021. Not to mention the great choice of music that would put any gamer in a certain mood, one would hope that a sequel would be in the works soon and that the game would be better than this one.
