Revenge of the Savage Planet is a highly fun experience for you and your friends to enjoy.
So far in 2025, we’ve been getting banger after banger when it comes to video games. We’ve already gotten to enjoy Game of the Year contenders like Split Fiction, Kingdom Come Deliverance II, and the newly released Clair Obscur: Expedition 33.
What’s crazy is that it isn’t going to stop anytime soon, and we’re expecting more bangers this year, such as the remake, Metal Gear Solid Δ – Snake Eater, Mafia: The Old Country, and arguably the most anticipated game of the year, Ghost of Yōtei.
We’ve now learned that Grand Theft Auto VI will be released next year and has the official release date: May 26, 2026. It’s fair to say that 2025 has been an immense year for gaming. Have you ever wanted to take a break from the more serious video games and play a game just to have fun, but at the same time have a fun, adventurous experience?
Well, this is where Revenge of the Savage Planet comes in—a comedic, Metroid Anika-style survival game for you and your friends to enjoy. Presented by Raccoon Logic Studios Inc., been in development for 5 years and is the sequel to the 2020’s Journey of the Savage Planet.

Now, Revenge of the Savage Planet is here for our intergalactic taste buds, and it seems like we’re in for a much bigger adventure. And guess what? It’s also available on Xbox and PC Game Pass. A future that’s been devastated by greed and idiocy, taking on the role of a redundant employee who has been abandoned in space and was given little to no resources to help them survive.
This is where you have to create your gear to not only survive, but to stand a chance of vengeance against your employer. However, your main goal is to return home. You must explore and venture across Revenge of the Savage Planet’s five mysterious alien universes, and you need to understand each world to succeed in your missions.
You’re guaranteed a wild, exciting yet satirical ride, and you get to do so either on your monitor, TV, or gaming handhelds. In my opinion, the latter is the better and more relaxing way to game on this title. I have the Lenovo Legion Go, and it plays very well on my little machine. The performance is very impressive.
So, whether you have that, the Steam Deck, Asus ROG Ally, etc., you get the privilege of having baseless fun on the go. It simply doesn’t get better than this, and as mentioned, Revenge of the Savage Planet is a game to take your mind off the more serious games and focus much more on relaxation. Moreover, this game will make you feel like a kid again with its nostalgic gameplay.
Revenge of the Savage Planet’s graphics are simply gorgeous. As you travel across multiple worlds, you get to view each of their stunning and unique-looking environments and explore their stunning-looking locations, each with its own hidden treasures for you to find. Obviously, they look even better when you play in higher resolutions.

The colours are vibrant, and the designs of the characters, objects, and more are relaxing, if that makes sense. And the designs of the suits are cool, too. Speaking of suits, as a bonus, if you were to buy Revenge of the Savage Planet within the first month of its release, you can obtain a Trash Panda suit, as well as a free copy of the previous game, Journey of the Savage Planet.
Moreover, you can also play as Dave the Diver. The game has great customisation depth for you to use for your character’s gear, weapons, your home base, and more. But be aware that this is only available on Steam, and you’ll also get a 10% discount if you purchase the first week on the service. Pretty cool, right?
The price for the game is already pretty sweet, and with how Revenge of the Savage Planet is, you’re definitely getting your money’s worth. Revenge of the Savage Planet has introduced brand new abilities, tools, and more for your enjoyment, and you’re encouraged to use them for optimal survival.
You have the 3D Printer that allows you to manufacture, craft, and upgrade weapons, tools, and abilities. There are many of these located around the maps. You have a blaster pistol that you must craft by collecting a variety of parts. And that’s the thing with some of the weapons in Revenge of the Savage Planet.
You’ll have to go around and find parts to build your weapon, device, or tool. The pistol is your trusted base weapon used against enemies. And the best thing is that the ammo is unlimited. However, it does enter cooldown if the weapon overheats. So, you’d have to shoot with the pistol sparingly. You can also use the left trigger to allow you to have precision aiming.

The pistol comes with pretty nifty upgrades. There are a couple that I like using the most. The first is the Snort Heat Sink, which allows you to fire more shots than usual and more often. This upgrade also comes with an increased cooldown and capacity of bullets to allow you to shoot more before you have to reload.
The other upgrade I like is the Grunk Power Booster. This upgrade packs more punch as you’re shooting. So, your weapon will inflict much more damage against enemies. Another weapon I like is the Spritzer Power Water Hose. This powerful weapon blasts water against enemies and shields that are immune to your pistol.
The Hose is not only used as a weapon. You can use it to wash dirty surfaces, your clothes, and your alien pets that you capture. It gets better, the weapon uses the moisture from the air to refill your Hose. By the way, this is another weapon that you’ll have to craft with the 3D Printer.
And yet another weapon that I like using is the Proton Whip x11. This weapon allows you to whiplash specific creatures, which’ll either stun or kill them. This whip can also be used as a lasso to capture creatures to send to your home base and own them. And funnily, you can use the whip to harass the creatures. Those are some real laugh-out-loud moments for you.
In Revenge of the Savage Planet, there are more platforming elements and many more creatures to scan. The scanner feature helps a lot with your objectives, and it also scans your interests. Also, the feature is required for the objectives. For example, in one mission, I needed to use the scanner to find a way to climb a very tall tree.
Revenge of the Savage Planet is a beautifully crafted sequel that you can play on the side just to relax and enjoy. A great, humorous, and adventurous story that’s filled with so much excitement. On top of that, together, you can either play together online or with the comfort of the same sofa, because that’s where the most fun happens.
Unfortunately, crossplay isn’t enabled. I’d happily recommend this game, as I’ve mentioned that it’s on Xbox and PC Game Pass. But if you don’t have the subscription, the price of the game is reasonable.
