Review Overview

Riders Republic needs to be talked about if you want a game where you can express yourself to the fullest, if you happen to be a huge fan of sports such as BMX, Skiing, and so on, and if you want a game that delivers nothing but pure awesomeness.

Then please look no further. Riders Republic can give you all of that, plus much, much more. This isn’t your typical sports game, which is probably why any gamer wouldn’t get enough of it. You literally would not know where to start to explain how great this game is.

This game may still excite you as much, even if you are not the biggest fan of the sports mentioned. Tricks, tricks, and more tricks are the aim of the game, and some would leave you in awe.

And let us not forget the gorgeous large map that is split into three big areas for you to have pretty much as much fun as you desire. When you add up all of that, plus more, this makes for a truly exhilarating experience and makes everything worthwhile.

Riders Republic is a sports game developed by Ubisoft Annecy and published by Ubisoft. The game was released on October 28, 2021, and is available on platforms ranging from Microsoft Windows to Xbox Series X and S.

Riders Republic’s gameplay is phenomenal. It is so incredibly fluid that you wouldn’t feel bored even when performing the same tricks, even though there are far too many that you can perform. You are first given a choice of the types of button layouts you would prefer to accelerate, perform tricks, and so on.

Seeing as how everyone is different, you would wisely choose the one that you’re most comfortable with. In this game, nothing beats performing a series of awesome tricks, perfecting them, and collecting many points as one of the rewards. It is the best feeling. Not only that, you can perform them on a BMX bike, ski, jet ski, snowboard, and so on.

It’s insane how you can switch between vehicles at any given time during gameplay, and you can still perform crazy stunts whilst up very high in the air. If you thought that was cool, just think about how you can also use a flying wingsuit to increase the altitude and give you more opportunities to perform wild moves. You get to sign up for the best, most well-known, and actual, as well as fictional, tournaments, which surely get any gamer amped up.

And of course, finishing first place would make you feel some type of way. It’s not just racing itself that is exciting. It’s how many can participate at a time. Imagine having to race with up to 60+ players to claim 1st place.

Let’s not forget a mass of insanely cool and unlockable items such as bikes, skis, clothing for you to enjoy, and use as much as you like. Some look much better than others. It is also great that there is a mode for you to express yourself as much as your heart wants.

Riders Republic’s visuals are stunning—stunning. Seeing the gorgeous surroundings is a thing of beauty. Almost every part of the game shows photorealistic effects that simply add more spark to the game. Particularly when the climate changes, strangely, Riders Republic looks much cooler when it’s snowing or raining.

It gets far better when you play on a current-gen console like PlayStation 5 and use a 4K monitor, which produces a sharper and defined look. Plus, the game is very colorful, which makes things much more attractive.

When you take a few moments to watch the map, you will be in total disbelief at the stunning view. It is unbelievably huge and consists of multiple areas for you to use certain vehicles. For example, there is a very large area that is a ski slope for players to play around with their skis, snowboards, and jet skis, and participate in many tournaments.

If you as a player who gets a bit carried away ever find yourself stuck in a part of a map, about to leap to your death, about missing a checkpoint in a race, and so on, the backtrack functionality comes in handy as it prevents you from getting in any of those situations, as well as gets you out of them. This is a crucial feature that deserves a mention, and praise to the developer for implementing this.

Why just play in tournaments against robots when you could also play online with your friends and get involved in awesome tournaments? This is a much better experience, as you will be playing against players around the world, and if you were to end up winning the race, the feeling after doing so is unmatched.

The audio is another awesome aspect. There are so many cool songs to listen to that you would simply roam around the map to vibe to the song and wait for it to end, before going into another tournament. What I particularly like is how you have the option of completely turning off the music. This is essentially beneficial to gaming content creators, who don’t want to receive copyright strikes on their channels. This is a fine touch by the developer.

Ultimately, Riders Republic is a thing of beauty. It represents so many things that a sports game should have, and is simply the best extreme sports game I’ve ever played. This is a game that some of you didn’t even know you wanted.

There are a few negatives, but the positives astronomically outweigh the negatives for anyone to care about them. I hope that a sequel to this game will be in the works soon, but it cannot and should not end here. I strongly recommend all gamers get this.
