Ubisoft teases bold new directions for the Assassin’s Creed franchise, including a high-profile return of Black Flag and ambitious new projects in development.

Ubisoft showed fans what’s in store for its popular Assassin’s Creed series by releasing updates for several upcoming games and exciting new features for older games. The publisher confirmed rumors that have been circulating online for months by discussing plans for the next version of the Assassin’s Creed games on the company’s official website.

Ubisoft teases bold new directions for the Assassin’s Creed franchise, including a high-profile return of Black Flag and ambitious new projects in development. Codename Hexe, an Assassin’s Creed game currently in development, is leading the way. Many long-time fans will be most excited about the news that Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Remastered is real. It’s similar to other remasters that Ubisoft has made, like the latest updates to older Far Cry games. With these updates, Ubisoft seems determined to honor its history while exploring exciting new directions.

Codename Hexe, an Assassin’s Creed game currently in development, is leading the way.

Ubisoft calls Hexe a unique, darker, story-driven experience set at a turning point in history. The studio is taking its time to make sure the game lives up to its big goals, so fans should be patient with updates over the next few months.

On the other hand, Invictus offers a very different kind of fun. Invictus is being made by a group of four seasoned experts at Ubisoft Montreal. It is a PvP multiplayer game. The developer says the game will feature a new multiplayer twist that differs from how Assassin’s Creed games usually work. The studio warns that not all leaks online show the end vision for these projects, even though details are still scarce.

Many long-time fans will be most excited about the news that Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Remastered is real.

After months of rumors and leaks, Ubisoft finally released the project’s key art. This confirmed that we will soon be returning to pirate-filled waters. Ubisoft tells fans to “keep your spy glass on the horizon” for future updates, but no specific release dates, videos, or more information about how to play have been shared yet.

On top of all that, Ubisoft has released a free patch for Assassin’s Creed Unity on Xbox Series X|S and PlayStation 5 that enables 60 frames per second. Unity came out in 2014, and its frame rate has been limited to 30 frames per second ever since. This update brings the old game up to today’s standards. When Unity first came out, it was criticized for having glitchy graphics and NPC animations that didn’t work right. This speed boost is great for returning players.

It’s similar to other remasters that Ubisoft has made, like the latest updates to older Far Cry games.

As of now, we don’t know whether this will happen to other games in the series, but it shows that Ubisoft is committed to ensuring its games can be played on modern hardware.

Fans are eager to see how Hexe’s story and gameplay develop. Early rumors suggest it could be very different from past games, possibly exploring darker themes or new features. This increases anticipation for a unique Assassin’s Creed experience that could evolve the series.

With these updates, Ubisoft seems determined to honor its history while exploring exciting new directions.

Black Flag, Resynced, Codename Hexe, and Invictus are all very different versions of the same series. They offer a wide range of experiences, from classic pirate adventures to new ways to play with others and follow a story. At the same time, updates like Unity’s 60 fps patch show that the company is also aware of longtime fans who want to play older games again with new features.

With this roadmap, Assassin’s Creed is set for a strong future beyond 2026. The series continues to evolve, offering fans chances to explore the high seas, compete in PvP, or discover darker historical stories.
