Sony said it’s a safety measure amid the COVID-19 pandemic.

If you haven’t had the option to secure a PlayStation 5 pre-request, don’t plan to arrange at a nearby retailer with expectations of catching the comfort on dispatch day. All the very first-moment PS5 deals will be online-just using Sony’s retail accomplices.

The organization says this is to help keep retailers, staff, and shoppers safe in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic. The move applies to all locales on the PS5’s dispatch day: November 12 or 19, contingent upon where you are. Sony prior affirmed this would be the situation in Japan also. If you figured out how to affirm a pre-request and plan to gather your PS5 from a store, this change shouldn’t influence your get time.

Update: All PS5 console sales on launch day, November 12 or November 19 depending on your region, will be online-only. No units will be available in-store for purchase.

“Please don’t plan on camping out or lining up at your local retailer on launch day in hopes of finding a PS5 console for purchase,” Sony Interactive Entertainment’s Sid Shuman wrote in a blog post. “Be safe, stay home, and place your order online.” Strangely, Sony made the declaration simultaneously after audits of the new Xbox comforts went live. You would now be able to look at Engadget’s full audits of Xbox Series X and Series S.

In any case, it may merit checking with the retailer where you submitted your pre-request in the event that you need to be extra certain.
