Some gamers, when starting Minecraft for the first time, tend to overlook small details that only hurt them in the long run. To prevent that, every player must know the common mistakes beginners make and learn how to avoid them.

Mining Without Preparation

One of the biggest mistakes new players make is going into caves without enough supplies. Always carry a pickaxe, food, torches and a weapon when you are going to mine. Also, carry extra blocks so you can build bridges or block off dangerous areas if you need to. 

Squandering Valuable Resources 

Materials like diamonds and iron are very rare in the early game. Don’t use them on tools or items that aren’t needed until you know what you need to do. For example, you can craft an iron pickaxe first, then you can mine better ores, and you will progress a lot faster.

Forgetting to Sleep

Many beginners ignore their beds and spend every night battling hostile mobs. Sleeping skips the night and resets your respawn point so the game is much safer. Make a bed with three wool and three wooden planks as soon as possible.

Going in blind 

It’s easy to get lost in the exploration. Beginners tend to stray too far from their base and forget how to get back. Write down your coordinates or make simple landmarks to guide you to your house. Getting lost in the mines is also a very common mistake. Avoid it by placing torches along your path.

Neglecting Food and Health 

If you run out of food, you lose the ability to heal and run. Always carry cooked food when you leave the base. You can grow crops or raise animals to supply a steady source of food for future adventures. 

Leaving Your Base Vulnerable 

The base is dark, so hostile mobs can spawn close to it. Fill the inside and outside of your home with tons of torches so the area is safe. As you progress, you should build fences or walls around your base to make it safer.
