Here's a quick guide on elemental reactions & status effects in Arknights: Endfield.
Throwing random skills at bosses in Talos-II without looking at their debuff icons makes fights drag on forever. Figuring out elemental reactions and status effects in Arknights: Endfield is the fastest way to melt big health bars without needing maxed-out gear.
The game splits damage into four elemental Arts and raw Physical hits. Here is how you mix them up to get big numbers out of your squad.
Arts Bursts vs Reactions
Hitting an enemy with Heat, Cryo, Electric, or Nature attacks puts an elemental stack on them, capping at four stacks. Keep hitting them with that exact same element and you set off an Arts Burst for extra damage.

If you want real utility, hit a debuffed target with a different element to fire off an Arts Reaction. What happens next depends on the second element you throw out, since that trigger hit eats all current stacks to power up the combo.
Pick the Right Elemental Trigger
Order matters a lot when you start mixing different Arts together. Dropping Nature onto another element sets off Corrosion, which slowly eats away the target's resistance to everything. Do this early in boss fights so your whole team hits harder.
Finishing a combo with Electric sets off Electrification to boost incoming Arts damage, while ending with Heat causes a Combustion blast that leaves a burn. If you trigger with Cryo, you get Solidification and freeze the target solid. Smacking a frozen enemy with a heavy Physical move causes Shatter for huge burst damage.

Stack Vulnerable for Physical Teams
Physical characters ignore elemental combos and build up to four Vulnerable stacks on targets instead. Use moves with Lift or Knock Down to toss smaller enemies around, deal heavy Stagger damage, and build those four stacks fast. Once the enemy hits four stacks, cash them in with Breach to drop their physical armor, or fire off a Crush skill to eat all the stacks for one massive hit.
Getting the most out of status effects comes down to triggering Corrosion early to drop defenses, freezing targets for Physical Shatter hits, and stacking four Vulnerable debuffs before using Crush.
FAQ
Q. Does the order of elements matter for reactions?
A. Yeah, the second element you apply eats the current stacks and decides which reaction goes off.
Q. How do I get a Shatter combo?
A. Freeze an enemy with a Cryo reaction to get Solidification, then hit them with a Physical status skill.
Q. When do I use Crush or Breach?
A. Wait until you put four Vulnerable stacks on the target with Lift or Knock Down so you get the biggest damage or armor drop.
