Fans of Dragon’s Dogma rejoice as Capcom has confirmed that it will share a ton of new information regarding its upcoming title, Dragon’s Dogma 2, during an upcoming livestream. The publisher has confirmed that we will be getting over 15 minutes of new, never-before-seen gameplay footage later this month, and hopefully, with this footage, we will get more insight as to when the game will be released, as well as more gameplay mechanics.

What is Dragon’s Dogma 2?

For those of you who are unfamiliar with Dragon’s Dogma 2 or the Dragon’s Dogma franchise as a whole. Dragon’s Dogma 2 is the highly anticipated sequel to the first Dragon’s Dogma, which was an epic RPG game released back in 2012. The game took heavy inspiration from the old Dungeons and Dragons games from the ’90s that were arguably some of Capcom’s most beloved arcade titles.

Another one of the biggest influences on the games was the Berserk manga series by the late Kentaro Miura. The series is most famous for its unique combat, which fuses the snappy combat from Action RPGs with the ability to climb and scale your enemies to strike at their hidden weak spots.

Dragon's Dogma 2

From what we’ve seen from previous trailers for Dragon’s Dogma 2, the game has once again brought back and fleshed out multiple aspects of the first game, from the game’s destructible environments that can be used to turn even the most dangerous encounters into a cakewalk, as well as the ability to climb and scale the many giant enemies you are bound to encounter.

However, the sequel has added many new aspects to the franchise, such as the dynamic weather system, which adds another layer to the game’s combat, new classes, and completely reworked old ones, but possibly the biggest addition is an entirely new continent and an entirely new beast-race.

What is coming to Dragon’s Dogma 2?

As impressive as everything that has been previously revealed sounds, that’s not all that’s coming because Capcom has announced that it will be hosting a livestream on 28 November 2023, at 1 pm PT and 9 pm GMT. The livestream will be hosted by none other than Dragon’s Dogma 2’s director, Hideaki Itsuno, and the game’s producer, Yoshiaki Hirabayashi. The livestream has been teased as being “info-packed” and will likely include brand-new never before seen gameplay footage.

Capcom has also released a teaser trailer that gives us a glimpse as to what we can expect from the livestream, as it seems that it promises not one but three towering colossi. The livestream will show a player character take on these towering enemies at various locations, some of which we haven’t seen before. Could there be more hidden to be shown during the livestream? Well, we will have to wait and see!

Dragon's Dogma II, Dragon's Dogma 2, GamesCreed

It’s safe to say that Dragon’s Dogma 2 is one of the most highly anticipated upcoming games from Capcom, as the publisher is keen on showing off all the gameplay mechanics but still not spoiling anything about the game’s story. Dragon’s Dogma 2 itself is massive, being roughly four times the size of its predecessor and now containing two whole continents.

This is incredibly impressive as the first game was huge in its own right and took the player everywhere, from deep forests to windy open crags along the crashing shoreline. The publisher also recently shared a deep dive video that explained all the different vocations as well as their different play styles. So, if you’re interested in playing the game, give it a look to see which one best suits your play-style
