What changes and new trends await us in online gaming in 2023?

Sports games have always had a devoted fan base, but in 2023, they will be bigger and more realistic than ever. Whether you’re into soccer, basketball, soccer, or any other sport, there’s a game to satisfy your craving for competition.

What makes them so appealing? For many players, it’s the opportunity to take on the role of their favorite athletes, competing against others and climbing the ladder to become the ultimate champion. The genre contains many different kinds, including programs about particular sports, exceptional athletes, and international sporting events.

When the coronavirus restrictions were introduced, the online gaming sector was one of those where profits and customer bases were growing the fastest. Statistics, artificial intelligence, and algorithms are coming to the forefront, and players are becoming more experienced and sophisticated.

Most expected sports games of 2023

Sports video games are exciting and captivating, and they make us spend hours learning game mechanics and practicing to beat other gamers and rank at the top of the servers. In the future, the gaming innovation trend will continue because there will be a lot more projects in this genre. Meet the best sports games of 2023; read the mini-reviews and choose what you will play.

UFC 5, Female, Athlete, Fighter

UFC 5

The series’ fourth installment came out in mid-2020 and received generally good reviews. Yes, it was not without bugs, optimization, and balance problems, but fans liked the game and wanted more.

It’s hard to say at what stage of the novelty process because the developers have not yet shared even a teaser. But there are some interesting leaks that you should know about. Firstly, EA Sports has extended its contract with the UFC for 10 years. So we will see not only UFC 5 but also a few more parts. Secondly, back in September 2021, EA Sports hired a game director for UFC 5, which means development is at least a year old. The studio has a good engine, so the process won’t stretch out for three to four years. Consequently, we may see UFC 5 by the end of 2023.

Skate 4

Another game, the development of which is still hidden behind a veil of mystery, but we are waiting for it very much. After all, the third “Skate” was released in 2010, and since then, the series has not developed. But it has so much potential.

But, unlike the same UFC 5, we can use the indirect leaks and the actual developers’ statements. They released a short teaser that hinted at the creation of a new skate part. They didn’t say when it would come out or what it would be called. But the process is underway, and we will see a release version “when it’s ready.”

Skate Story

If the Skate series strives for realism, this action adventure with sports game elements is a mix of fantasy and psychedelic. You play as an underworld demon created out of glass and pain. Your creator, the Devil, will give you a simple task: to ride a skateboard to the moon and swallow it to gain your freedom.

Traveling through a very unusual hell, you will encounter other demons, as well as cute NPCs and lost souls. Riding and performing dizzying stunts, you’ll help who you can and fight for your own life. Starting the journey as a beginner, your character gradually turns into a pro. He’ll have over 70 new tricks to learn. He will also be able to customize his equipment.

Rennsport

Rennsport is a racing simulator created by German-Polish developers at Competition Company GmbH. Some of the team members have previously worked on major projects like Forza Motorsport 7 and the Monster Truck Championship.  The game is being developed exclusively for the PC platform on Unreal Engine 5 (perhaps, with time, there will be a release on the consoles). However, the developers have integrated their own car physics and tire models into the engine to make the gameplay as realistic as possible.

Also, we will get VR support at the release. There is a planned change of day and night, as well as weather conditions. There will be support for three monitors and all modern controllers. But most importantly, the game is developed primarily for eSports competitions. So, probably, in the near future, we will see a new cyber discipline.
