Wuthering Heights had its time in the sun, but I have a feeling that beyond its core fan base, it’s not going to last long.

I finally got around to watching Wuthering Heights, and I was very disappointed, as I like a couple of the actors in the film. Their performances were fine, but the writing and directing were not very good in my opinion. It seems like the only people who like it are in love with it and love this kind of movie. Most moviegoing people do not seem to enjoy it.

I was frustrated with a lot of things in the movie. First off, I think the music in Wuthering Heights is good, but it doesn’t fit the timeframe it’s set in. The music is very modern, as a lot of it was written by Charlie XCX. The music in it is good; it just doesn’t fit this 1800s timeframe.

It’s a really strange juxtaposition that absolutely doesn’t work in my opinion. Not saying the music has to be music from that time, but having modern music definitely doesn’t fit. It feels more like a music video and not an actual film.

Beyond that, I found the writing in Wuthering Heights pretty bland and cliché. The characters are poorly written, and none of them are interesting or enjoyable. I found a lot of them to be kind of detestable, and I was very frustrated with the movie and even considered walking out.

I really feel like the screenplay might’ve been a little better; the actors try their best.

The movie might have been more well-received, but it is extremely cliché. Once you understand the premise, you understand everything in the whole movie.

This story has been told in many different ways, as the novel is fairly old, being written in the 1800’s.

It seems that there are many other movies that adapted the book a little bit better than the modern Wuthering Heights and that people enjoy more. What was also strange about Wuthering Heights is that sex is basically what most of the movie is about.

And the movie doesn’t show any full-on sex; it just shows some of the foreplay, which is wild. I’m not saying I need to see sex in this movie or any movie for that matter, but I don’t understand why you would have that be such a central theme of the movie and not even show it.

I mean, legitimately, the entire movie is about predominant sexual relationships. I understand that they’re in love, but the sex seems to override that love. The relationships seem to be dominated by sex and not by other things. So when that’s the theme or big point of the movie, and you don’t even show it, it doesn’t make a lot of sense.

I understand sometimes actors don’t necessarily want to film sex scenes later in their careers, but that’s what body doubles are for, and there are plenty of ways to film around it. The movie is all about these people who are extremely horny all the time, which seems to be all they have going for them. That, for me, makes the characters boring.
