Here's a quick guide on how to build Royal Influence in Yes, Your Grace 2: Snowfall.
Royal Influence is the one in the middle of your crown. You want it full. It's your kingdom's XP bar, really, and it's what levels your realm up and unlocks the laws. You don't need to complete the story in order to start building it up. You just need to survive the throne room for a few weeks (which is far easier said than done).
Where to Look
Petitions. That's where the majority of it comes from. You've got to hear every single one of them through before you spend a single coin, as there are a lot of con artists out there who will take your coin and give you absolutely nothing in return.
You go through the whole queue, then into the Council Room, the Bedroom, and the Wall before you get to the supplies. The little household scenes go a long way to improving your standing. Keep Prosperity up, as that's what gets turned into gold and supplies at the end of the week.

The Fight You Need to Win
The difficult bit isn't the boss; it's your first few weeks in Grevno. The petitions are randomized, and every one has a hidden minimum, so if you miss it, your people will be very unhappy. The classic error is to try and help everyone.
Just take the cheap high-value ones, skip the swindlers, and let the rest go. You do this as King Eryk whilst the court is still reeling from Jakub's visit, and from Chapter Three you're doing it as Queen Aurelea, who is in fact far less respected than a King and has to earn every inch of it. Don't rush, wait for a good opening, and never spend down to zero.
Taking Royal Influence Home
Don't just dump it. Bank it, level the kingdom, and then take helpful laws (e.g., the Trade Treaty). Hold a gold reserve for the end-of-week events, which can appear at any time. Take the weekly paying upgrades rather than the one-off fixes.
Agents and matched items will deal with petitions without touching the treasury, and any misallocated items will be refunded anyway, so you can experiment.

FAQ
Q. Do I have to play the first game first?
No, there's a recap and a questionnaire that determines what actually happened back then, and your answers carry over.
Q. Can Influence hit zero?
Not at all; it only goes up as far as the guides take it. Happiness is the gauge you have to keep an eye on.
Q. Do I have to restart if my Influence is low?
No. Get agents like Stan, Alena, Oleg, and Velek, give them the kit that's appropriate for the job, and let them clear the petitions you can't afford.
