It’s been 8 years since the Cyberpunk 2077 announcement, and after years of hype, showcases and delays, the game is finally here. Cyberpunk Investor Relations’ official Twitter account has confirmed that the number of pre-orders for the game has reached 8 million. This is ironic because that’s how many years this game has been known. Here is the breakdown of the statistics. 74% of the pre-orders were digital and 26% were hard copy. 59% of the pre-orders were PC and 41% were on console.
To add to this, CD project investor relations have also announced on their Twitter that “Cyberpunk 2077 already exceeded 50 million in the Steam platform over 2 weeks ago”
This is obviously a massive achievement and it looks like 8 years of development and marketing has finally paid off. However, there were many reports of issues that have occurred in the game, especially on the previous-gen consoles. But in the bright side, Cyberpunk’s official Twitter has apparently addressed this and plans on fixing these issues with new updates.
