Cyberpunk 2077 now has a 47GB update on Xbox Series X/S consoles to ensure that it is optimal to play it on that particular console.
It was mentioned almost two weeks ago that Cyberpunk 2077 was going to receive native and optimised versions on both PS5 and Xbox Series X/S. Now, firstly, the Xbox Series X/S update dropped early, which is why this news has come somewhat separated. This means that most likely, the PS5 optimisation will follow, likely dropping at some point today.
This news comes as CD Projekt Red is about to have a reveal stream where they will no doubt show a few of the improvements included in this rather large update. The official Cyberpunk Twitter stated this:
The reveal stream is set for 4 pm (CET), which is 3 pm (GMT), 10 am (ET), and finally 7 am (PT). You can watch the stream on CD Projekt Red’s Official Twitch channel.
It is still uncertain what CD Projekt Red has fixed in Cyberpunk 2077, and beyond that, after the game’s release, CD Projekt Red stated that they would release free content to accompany the game. This process would be similar to that of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt; however, we are yet to see any of this free content. Whether any of this potential free content will be shown on stream is uncertain, but the hope is that CD Projekt has many heavy-duty fixes to the game, and with luck, we may start to see the rollout of brand-new Cyberpunk 2077 content.
CD Projekt are undoubtedly desperate to get this update out of the door. With luck, it may start to change the narrative surrounding CD Projekt and Cyberpunk. But it is truly dependent on what this update succeeds or fails to do.
