Since its release in August of 2018, Dead Cells has been going strong, with a stream of quality DLC and content updates continuing to give it life even now, in 2022. Motion Twin, its developer, has not skimped out on providing to their game and their fans, as shown by even just some of the promotional images for their latest DLC: The Queen and the Sea.

The Queen and the Sea is the third paid DLC for Dead Cells (not including the free content expansion, Rise of the Giant), and adds content to round off the alternate path that began with The Bad Seed and was continued by Fatal Falls. As per usual, a plethora of weapons and outfits are added for the player to make use of as they see fit, and new enemies litter the path ahead, posing unique challenges.

In addition, and most importantly, there is a grand total of three brand new areas to explore. The first is the Abandoned Shipwreck, a close quarters sunken ship with enemies stalking you from the shadows. The second is the Lighthouse, a ragged, derelict tower filled with enemies and hazards that hound you as you rush to the top. And third is the Crown, the summit of the Lighthouse and the site of a perilous fight from the past.

As per usual, Motion Twin continues to deliver, and Dead Cells remains an incredibly well polished example of Motion Twin’s attentive nature.
