Thanks in part to the global pandemic, Electronics Arts is riding high by keeping people at home playing, and spending money on games.

The coronavirus is keeping people staying home and looking for things to do. In particular, Gaming has enjoyed a huge uptick in play time–and spending–due to the virus. Electronic Arts has now placed that expansion into point of view with hard information.

Last June was the best June quarter in the organization’s 38-year history as the company’s detailed profit for the quarter ended June 30. The company made a benefit of $365 million while EA posted an out income of $1.46 billion for the period.

The overwhelming majority of EA’s revenue for the quarter–$1.1 billion—that are earned by microtransactions, which are called “live services.” EA CEO Andrew Wilson said that it was an unprecedented first quarter of growth in their business. He also mentioned that they will continue building more groundbreaking content, more ways to connect with friends and play great games throughout the year, and more innovative experiences.

EA CFO Blake Jorgensen also added that “player commitment” numbers for EA’s games were “outstandingly high” or more than EA’s forecast. The Sims 4 was an immense accomplishment for EA during the quarter, reaching more than 30 million players to date.

The quantity of every day, week-after-week, and month-to-month dynamic players for The Sims 4 came to “record highs” during the quarter. Moreover, Apex Legends’ new Season 5 update performed well overall, coming to the “high levels since Season 1.

” Madden NFL 20 was likewise a brilliant spot for EA during the period. EA said, “player acquisition” for the series rose by about 140 percent, and Madden Ultimate Team commitment was up “more than twofold” compared with a year ago.

Altogether, EA discharged more than 30 new content updates for the entirety of its support/PC games and more than 50 updates for its versatile titles during the period, which helped overall engagement. This quarter likewise observed EA come back to Steam, carrying very nearly 30 titles to the platform, including Mass Effect 3, Star Wars: Battlefront II, and others.
