FromSoftware thanks its devoted Tarnished for as punishing open-world, Elden Ring, epic surpasses 30 million sales.
Elden Ring achieved Game of the Year honors, setting early sales benchmarks—10 million copies sold within months, then 20 million by late 2023. In a heartfelt message to its community, FromSoftware has revealed that Elden Ring has officially surpassed 30 million copies sold since its February 2022 launch.
Announced via the game’s official Twitter account, the studio thanked its players with two poignant lines: “Dearest Tarnished, we are profoundly thankful for your lasting devotion—may your path be forever guided by the grace of gold,” and “Thank you for 30 million Tarnished.”
Amazingly, a game known for its punishing difficulty and huge open world reached this point three years after its release. Many people gave up on the game because of its difficult learning curve. However, tens of millions still explored its vast scenery and mysterious story, showing how popular the game was with a wide range of people.
With whispers of an Elden Ring 2 already stirring excitement—and the Nightreign expansion on the horizon—fans have plenty to look forward to. Whether they’re seasoned Tarnished veterans or newcomers drawn by the announcement of the sale, players everywhere now share in a milestone that cements Elden Ring’s place among gaming’s most enduring successes.
