Leaked documents and new reports point to Playground Games’ next racing blockbuster heading to Japan, with a potential announcement at TGS 2025.

It looks like the long-awaited dream setting for the Forza Horizon games might finally be coming true. New leaks say that Playground Games’ highly regarded open-world racing series will continue with Forza Horizon 6. Forza Horizon 6 is said to take place in Japan and will be shown off at next month’s Tokyo Game Show.

There had been rumors about a possible partnership on the next Forza Horizon since the end of last week, when a company accidentally hinted at it. The Instagram post, which has since been deleted, showed a car model that was deeply rooted in Japanese car culture. This quickly led to rumors that Japan would be the next location.

A new report says the rumor is more likely to be true. It is rumored that Forza Horizon 6 will be shown off at the Tokyo Game Show in late September. According to many new rumors and reports, the reveal will happen at TGS and the game will be set in Japan, which is something fans have been asking for years.

Even though people are getting more excited about the Japanese background, there are still questions about the platforms. Xbox is becoming more open to multiplatform releases, putting older games on other systems to reach more people.

However, some people think Microsoft might still use a staggered approach, putting out popular games like Forza Horizon 6 first on Xbox and PC before trying to bring them to other platforms. At this point, we don’t know if Forza Horizon 6 will be coming to Nintendo’s much-anticipated Switch 2, but it hasn’t been thrown out completely either. Fans are likely to get better answers when the big reveal happens.

The move to Japan would be a big deal for the brand if it turns out to be true. Forza Horizon fans have long praised the country as a great place to set the game, saying that its rich car culture, diverse landscapes, and famous racing practices would work well with the game’s lively, open-world style.

Many people think that Playground Games is the best arcade racing studio right now, so everyone is really excited to see how the creator can bring Japan’s automotive history to life. It is said that both Forza Horizon 6 and the newly released Gears of War: E-Day will come out in 2026.

In other words, fans may still have to wait, but the thought of racing through Tokyo’s neon-lit streets, snowy mountain passes, and rural roads makes the wait even more exciting. Right now, everyone is looking forward to next month’s Tokyo Game Show.

If the leaks are true, Playground Games is getting ready to release one of the most-requested settings in the history of the series. It could also be the biggest Forza Horizon game yet.
