Fans speculate on Bloodborne 2, Dark Souls III Remaster, and more as exciting details start to emerge about their Project FMC.
FromSoftware, the studio behind critically acclaimed titles like Elden Ring and the Dark Souls franchise, is allegedly in the works, behind closed doors, on a new unannounced AAA title—one that might hit the shelves earlier than anticipated.
According to a recent report, this mystery game, codenamed “FMC”, is already in the advanced stages of production and is aiming for release before the end of 2026, which could possibly send ripples across the industry as FromSoftware has done previously with the release of Elden Ring.
While official details are still under wraps, that hasn’t stopped speculation from running wild. Some fans believe “FMC” could be the long-awaited sequel to Bloodborne, a beloved title that hasn’t seen a follow-up since its 2015 debut.
Others think it may be in relation to existing franchises, like an Armored Core expansion or a potential Dark Souls III remaster. The code name itself hasn’t given much away, although some believe the letter “F” may be linked to previous internal code names used for Dark Souls or Armored Core projects, further accentuating rumors.

This, however, is not the only news regarding FromSoftware. The studio is also working on Dusk Bloods, a new title being developed for the upcoming Nintendo Switch 2. In the meantime, post-launch content continues to roll out for Elden Ring: Night Reign, which expands the game’s already vast universe.
Studio president Hidetaka Miyazaki has reassured fans that, despite incorporating multiplayer elements in some new projects, FromSoftware remains committed to its signature style of atmospheric and immersive single-player-driven experiences.
Both Dusk Bloods and Night Reign will stick to the studio’s origins. With several projects in motion and secrecy surrounding “FMC”, speculation is at an all-time high. We urge you to beware since a new FromSoftware blockbuster may just be hidden in plain sight.
