Members of Team Xecuter, a group of alleged video game console hackers, have been arrested and charged.

Individuals from a supposed computer game reassure hacking and robbery gathering, Team Xecuter, have been captured and accused of extortion. 48-year-old Max Louarn of France, 35-year-old Chinese public Yuanning Chen, and 51-year-old Gary Bowse were captured at some point a month ago.

Both Louarn and Bowser were captured abroad. The United States is pushing ahead with Louarn’s removal so he can confront preliminary in the nation. Bowser, a Canadian public, was captured in the Dominican Republic and expelled to the United States. The 51-year-old remained before a New Jersey government court on Friday, October 2. Group Xecuter purportedly made and sold hacks or chips that considered unapproved or pilfered games to be played on certain computer game consoles. The arraignment asserts the group sold hacks for the Nintendo Switch, Nintendo 3DS, and NES Classic Edition, just as PlayStation and Xbox consoles.

Group Xecuter supposedly attempted to conceal their action by guaranteeing they were “[supporting] gaming fans who needed to plan their computer games for noncommercial use.” According to the prosecution, the gathering would require their clients to purchase a permit to access the full highlights of their custom firmware. As far as anyone knew, this permit was needed to empower the gadget to play stolen computer game titles.

“These defendants lined their pockets by stealing and selling the intellectual property of other video-game developers–even going so far as to make customers pay a licensing fee to play stolen games,” said U.S. Attorney Brian Moran. “This conduct doesn’t just harm billion-dollar companies, it hijacks the hard work of individuals working to advance in the video-game industry.”

Each of the defendants has been charged with 11 felony counts including wire fraud, trafficking in circumvention devices, and conspiracy to commit money laundering. Some charges are punishable by up to 20 years in prison. Both the FBI and Homeland Security Investigations are investigating the case.
