Emily is Away, Kyle Seeley’s indie game that initially got ready for a late spring 2020 delivery, has now been postponed to an obscure time.

Initially anticipating an August 2020 delivery, Seeley took to Twitter to affirm that Emily is Away, while as yet being taken a shot at, would not hit that objective. In any case, the engineer did likewise set aside the effort to declare that his next update would incorporate another game trailer.

Dev update! As some have guessed, Emily <3 isn't going to have a summer release. I'm sorry to anyone that was looking forward to it (so was I). I really wanted to hit August, but 2020 had other plans.

In his Twitter developer update, Seeley composed that he had been anticipating the game’s delivery and trusted it could be in August, however, that “2020 had different plans.” While Seeley didn’t determine a purpose behind the deferral, a lot of different activities – both independent games and triple-A – have encountered delays because of nature made by COVID-19 around the globe, so it’s certainly not strange. By and large, the Twitter reaction to Seeley’s declaration mirrors that: aficionados of the arrangement are simply cheerful the game is still in progress, and are happy to pause if it implies a better game.

The first game is modeled around something like AOL’s Instant Messenger, while the second game involves a Facebook-like platform; each features branching stories for players to follow, and presumably, Emily is Away will do the same. The indie game doesn’t have a solid release date nailed down yet, but that may be revealed with the trailer that Seeley also promised.

In the meantime, fans of the series will have to sit tight and wait to see what Emily is Away having in-store. Emily is Away is in development now for PC and Mac.
