Apparently, the next calendar year’s Call of Duty game will be Modern Warfare 4.
Modern Warfare 4 in 2026? Seriously? That is something. It’s expected that the next Call of Duty game will be from Treyarch, which is also expected to be Black Ops 4. It makes sense that Treyarch is doing a consecutive release of a Call of Duty title, just like Infinity Ward did with 2022’s MWII and 2023’s MWIII. But what about the next game after that? What game should we be expecting in the next calendar year?
According to Call of Duty content creator Faze Swagg, he has uploaded a video stating that the next title might be Modern Warfare 4. He explains what he knows in his video called ‘MODERN WARFARE 4’, and in it, there are a few important details that he mentions that might happen in Modern Warfare 4. For one, he says that apparently, there won’t be Omnimovement. Unless you’ve been living under a rock, you should be aware of this new movement system that was introduced in the current Call of Duty title.
Omnimovement has garnered massive praise from the community, as it provides significantly more flexibility in your movements and helps you overcome your enemies. But strangely enough, the system won’t be in Modern Warfare 4. Or maybe, this is a Black Ops thing? However, this doesn’t mean that there won’t be any new gameplay features, mechanics, and much more in Modern Warfare 4. In fact, Swagg said himself that it’ll be in it, but didn’t say what they were.
Moreover, there will be no longer be any forced innovation in the UI, which is a blessing, because the UI in Call of Duty games over the years has been relatively unsatisfactory. He also mentions that Warzone in 2026 might feature a brand-new map named Avalon. There’s another rumour that the game will be set in both North and South Korea. And yes, the game will arrive on Xbox Game Pass. This is exciting times ahead for the Call of Duty community, as we’re already discussing another title that isn’t due until the next calendar year.
