Nintendo has confirmed their return for Gamescom 2025 after missing out on 2024.
After skipping out on Gamescom 2024, Nintendo has announced that they will be returning for 2025. The specifics are still up in the air, but we can expect to see Mario Kart World, Donkey Kong: Bananza, and the Nintendo Switch 2 in action at the showcase.
Nintendo will formally attend Gamescom 2025. This is the first time the company has returned to Europe’s largest gaming show since last year. The event will be held in Cologne, Germany, from August 20 to 24. This happens barely two months after the global launch of the Nintendo Switch 2. If this helps maintain the excitement, more people might be interested in the new gadget.
An official X (formerly Twitter) account for Nintendo Germany announced the news, writing, “Mark your calendar in red: Nintendo will be back at Gamescom 2025.” Mark your calendars for August 20–24, because we will be in Cologne!
We know that there will be some new first-party games and enhanced versions of older ones at the expo, but Nintendo hasn’t announced what games exactly yet. A few examples of these games are Mario Kart World, Donkey Kong: Bananza, Metroid Prime 4: Beyond, Pokémon Legends Z-A, and Drag X Drive.
Those who attend the event will have the chance to test these Switch 2 games and observe Nintendo’s next-gen system in action.

Super Mario Odyssey, Pokémon: Scarlet & Violet, and The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom are just a few of the twelve games that will receive complimentary Switch 2 upgrades when it launches.
Improved visuals and frame rates are among them. Another is GameShare, Nintendo’s new online multiplayer feature that allows you to play with pals on different platforms with a single copy of the game.
Regardless, Nintendo Switch 2’s worldwide release date is June 5, 2025. The console’s price in the US is $449.99, in the UK £395.99, and in Europe €469.99.
