For those who have been anticipating the multiplayer update for Beat Saber on PSVR, the wait will have to be just a bit longer.

For the individuals who have been waiting for multiplayer on Beat Saber on PlayStation VR, the wait should be somewhat shorter. The mode has been postponed in Beat Saber PSVR until 2021. Beat Saber has achieved significant accomplishments in VR since its launch in 2019. Designer Beat Games Studio has continued to support Beat Saber with free content and various updates.

In dealing with the multiplayer for the PSVR variant, the designer nonetheless lets fans know that it requires slightly more time. In an ongoing tweet from the official @BeatSaber Twitter page, the designer clarified that the multiplayer for the PSVR version of the game is taking longer than anticipated. While multiplayer was introduced in Beat Saber not long ago for various stages, the PSVR version is expected to be released in January 2021.

In a subsequent tweet, the designer clarified that multiplayer is a profoundly perplexing in-game process and that it should be approached marginally differently on each stage.

Dear PS VR players, we're so sorry that multiplayer is still not available for PS4. Bringing MP to PS4 is a priority for us, but development is taking much longer than we’d expected. We're trying to deliver multiplayer in January if everything goes to plan.

It is a testament to how troublesome game development can be, and how a little persistence from fans can go a long way in addressing worker issues, multiplayer hiccups, and so on, with developers and their games.

Meanwhile, there are still many extraordinary VR games to play in 2020, while waiting for Beat Saber multiplayer on PSVR. 2020 has seen a resurgence in VR, beginning with Half-Life: Alyx, so the expectation is that the momentum will continue in 2021.

Beat Saber is accessible now on Oculus, PC, and PSVR.
