Independent Polish developer Game Island, along with publisher, Toplitz Productions, have revealed their latest YouTube inside look at its upcoming survival adventure game, Serum. The game itself will have players diving into a survival adventure following a character with no memory and an unknown liquid that takes control of the character’s life.
The goal of the game will be to have players extract Serum to survive, battle it out with dangerous creatures, and solve puzzles to uncover clues about the past events that put the character there.
The shared video reveals how players can strategically take advantage of powerful side-effects to make new abilities during the process of brewing different kinds of serums using different recipes. To help players stay alive, brewing successful serums allows players to master their mutations while also boosting abilities, a small selection of which have been showcased in the release of the latest video.
These showcased abilities included in the reveal were abilities such as active camo, attack moves, and speed, as well as unique abilities such as Tether, which is quite useful as it gives the player the chance to encase dangerous enemies in vines momentarily.
Aiming to be the latest addition to the popular survival adventure genre, it houses a fusion of puzzle-solving, crafting, exploration, and heart-racing survival against mutated and evil-looking creatures that roam the world of this game. The mysterious liquid is a player’s lifeline in an infected world, destroyed by a man-made catastrophic event. The serum has curing effects of the blight that devastates the world.
This thrilling survival adventure has much to offer and much to show players once released, the video looks great and is really eye-catching with most of the reveal showing a dark and abandoned world filled with eerie danger.
