Nintendo Switch 2 leaks hint at a packed 2027 lineup featuring a new 3D Mario, Luigi’s Mansion 4, and additional major releases.
Nintendo Switch 2 leaks are giving us a peek at what Nintendo could be planning for 2027, with a lot of blockbuster games supposedly on the way. Recent data mining has revealed internal project codenames, and insiders have provided a possible release lineup including a new 3D Mario, Luigi’s Mansion 4, and other Nintendo franchises.
There is a rumor going around the internet that Mario Kart World would contain plenty of DLC waves, each with a distinct character, cup, and goodie. But that specific remark has not been verified. A couple of the internal codenames published earlier seem to line up with known Nintendo programs. They are Drive for Mario Kart World, TCN for Nintendo Switch 2 Welcome Tour, Spiral for Splatoon Raiders, and Anna for Nintendo Switch Sports Resort.
Rumor has it Silverstar is tied to Donkey Kong Bananza. Flash is connected to Drag X Drive. A rumored lineup claims Nintendo may be gearing up to release many major games in 2027, including Xenoblade Chronicles: Genesis, Metroid Ravenous, Pokémon Winds and Waves, a new 3D Mario, Luigi's Mansion 4, and even a Wario action-adventure game.
There are also two more games that have received some interest, Project Legacy, thought to be an homage to Xenoblade Chronicles: Genesis, and SP Red, which some have guessed could be the codename for Nintendo's next 3D Mario game. The projected 2027 lineup and any project identities tied to that rumor are not yet officially confirmed.

Rockstock is also rumored to be a possible Nintendo MMO RPG. Perhaps it’s something to do with an earlier internet playtest that included a lot of multiplayer action. But we don’t know its release date or name or if it would be tied to Nintendo Switch Online. Another big possibility is Mario Kart World DLC.

We can debunk one particular claim regarding individual DLC waves being inaccurate, but continued support makes sense with the popularity of Mario Kart 8 Deluxe and its Booster Course Pass. More content might keep Nintendo’s players engaged with Mario Kart World through the Switch 2 generation. We might finally receive a new 3D Mario after a decade-long wait.
Nintendo's next big 3D Mario game could be one of its top sales in 2027. Super Mario Odyssey was launched in 2017, and eventually another mainline game came out after an extremely long period of time. Industry sources say the game could be shown off at a Nintendo Direct before its release in late 2027.
Another one to watch out for is Luigi’s Mansion 4. Nintendo has reason to continue the series, considering Luigi's Mansion 3 was so good. But releasing it too early for a new 3D Mario would be two popular games in the same demographic vying against each other.
The alleged Wario Land project, meanwhile, is particularly interesting because it would introduce Wario to action-adventure platforming instead of the WarioWare style. Meanwhile, Rockstock might be Nintendo’s push to get better at online multiplayer RPGs.
There have been whispers of activity around Nintendo in 2027, but nothing has been officially confirmed as of yet. With Metroid Ravenous, expected Mario Kart World DLC and other reported significant releases, the Switch 2 might have a very successful year if these forecasts are correct.
