What would it be like to bring the green back to a desert? What will you do with the chance that Terra Nil gives you?

Reviving desolate environments is an admirable goal. Given how the tech affects nature, it may help terraforming efforts. In Terra Nil, players are tasked with bringing life back to a land that has lost it. Purify the soil so that lush green forest and flowers may grow. Cleanse the ocean of its toxic pollutants and bring back the aquatic life that once thrived there. From Free Lives and Devolver Digital, comes a peaceful way to experience PC gaming.

The latest eco-technology is at your disposal. Change an entire world’s destiny, bringing back environments like lush forests and wetlands frequented by creatures like frogs and crocodiles. Doing one’s best to clean the environment is of vital importance. But it is also important that one leaves no trace behind. After the job is close to finished, recycle the equipment that helped breathe life back into nature, and leave Terra Nil as if you were never there.

Don’t expect to be greeted by the same maps either. With procedural generation, no two playthroughs will be the same for any player. With beautiful hand-painted locales and ambient music as a compliment, one might be able to take the game as an opportunity to meditate.

Terra Nil is slated for release on Steam and Netflix sometime in 2023.
