Ankama adds another MMO WAVEN to their list of hits.
French Publisher and Developer, Ankama Studio, have announced that their tactical turn-based multiplayer RPG, WAVEN, will be coming out later this year. Ankama is famous for other MMOs such as ‘DOFUS’ which was released in 2004 and ‘WAKFU’ released in 2012. The announcement trailer for Waven was released on the 2nd of May 2023. The game will be co-published between Ankama Games and New Tales.
In WAVEN, you play as a seafaring adventurer in a world where only a few islands have survived the rising waters. Long before Gods and dragons ruled the world, but today only magic remains; discover what happened to the mythical beings of previous ages.
Choose your hero and equip them with your favourite spells and weapons, then set sail into a world adrift. The game takes you towards a new era where you sail between different islands in a world filled with colourful characters and creatures, increase your hero’s level and refine your strategy as you uncover secrets in WAVEN.
WAVEN features a tactical turn-based combat mechanism with multiplayer aspects to it. Whether you go up against enemies alone or with friends, it’s entirely up to you. Summon mystical creatures and build your deck as WAVEN also has deck-building mechanics. Don’t forget to loot as many valuable items as you can. Regardless of whether you battle with close combat tactics or sling an almost endless amount of spells at your enemies, the game has many choices for any play style.
The game will be a cross-platform adventure between mobile and PC, so it will be easy for players to switch their accounts over to either a mobile platform or back to their PC. This makes it easy to take the game wherever you go. WAVEN will be released in late 2023 on Android, IOS and PC. Although it will be available earlier as an early-access game on Steam.
