A new John Wick game was announced, starring Keanu Reeves reprising his role. What does this mean for the movies?
They’re finally making a legit John Wick game. There was one previously, but it was an overhead strategy game. It didn’t go over well with many John Wick fans. There are a lot of people who want an actual AAA game. One where Keanu Reeves plays the character, and it feels like a video game that everyone can enjoy, and it feels like one of the movies.
John Wick has all the ingredients to make a great video game, so it’s no surprise that they finally decided to do a big-budget game. As for the movies, it seems like John Wick five is in production with Keanu Reeves starring. But I have a feeling that the video game will tie into the fifth movie. That, or the video game will be a prequel of sorts; the fifth game will likely be one as well.
Spoilers, but at the end of John Wick four, it seems that John Wick has finally died.
After all they did in that movie to build up to the end, it seems like he might actually be dead, and the fifth movie might be a prequel. Of course, there’s no official status as far as what the synopsis of the fifth movie will be; we just know that it’s actually happening.
With the video game, I think they can definitely lay the groundwork for the fifth movie. They might also continue the Ballerina story with Anna de Armas.
It seems as though they’ve created a whole universe, and they have a lot to expand upon, and I have a feeling that the video game is going to do awesome as well, especially with Keanu Reeves being in it.
There’s also no timeline for when the fifth movie is to come out, so I believe that the game and the fifth movie will definitely be tied together in one way or another. Keanu Reeves also doing Cyberpunk 2077 helped because now he’s up to doing more video games. I’m absolutely excited for the game, and I think that he’ll absolutely kill it once again as John Wick.
